Why we published this
Anyone shortlisting an IT provider in Johannesburg ends up on six near-identical websites, each claiming the same things in the same words. This page exists because that is a bad way to choose, and because we would rather be measured against the competition honestly than hope you never look.
Systeque appears in the list on the same terms as everyone else — alphabetically, fifth of six — with its limitations stated. There are engagements in this market that another provider on this page is better suited to than we are, and they are named below.

Netconfig

Netconfig claims more than 25 years of expertise and runs from two provinces, with offices at 28 Essex Terrace, Westville in Durban and 387 Jan Smuts Avenue, Craighall in Johannesburg. Its listed services are:
- IT support and managed IT services
- Cloud technologies, networking solutions and connectivity
- Cyber security, backup and data protection
- Digital office solutions, modern workspace, hardware and software
Who it suits: Businesses that want one supplier across KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, or that want office technology sitting alongside IT rather than bought separately.
Netsurit
netsurit.com
Netsurit advertises "23+ Years supporting companies in South Africa" and operates from Building 22B, Woodlands Office Park, Woodlands Drive, Woodmead, Sandton, with further offices in Cape Town and New York City. Its listed services are:
- Managed IT services and IT consulting
- Network support and 24/7 tech support
- Cybersecurity and disaster recovery
- Cloud services, IT procurement and productivity monitoring
Who it suits: Larger organisations that want round-the-clock cover, and businesses with operations spanning South Africa and the United States. Its Johannesburg page advertises guaranteed ticket response times, resolution times and server uptime.
SevenC
sevenc.co.za
SevenC states it "was founded in 1998 with a passion for open-source technology and a drive to solve real business challenges through smart, secure IT". It operates from Unit 36, Sunninghill Office Park, Peltier Drive, Sunninghill, with a branch at the corner of Monument and Dann Road, Kempton Park. Its listed services are:
- Managed IT services and virtual CIO
- Cloud services, networks and connectivity
- Cyber security solutions
- Data storage and recovery, and Linux support services
Who it suits: Businesses that need genuine Linux and open-source capability alongside strategic advisory. This is the closest overlap with Systeque in this list — same founding year, and open-source depth stated on both sites. If you are choosing between the two, choose on the specific engineers and the response model, not on the service list.
Solid Systems

Solid Systems has operated since 2003 and runs offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg and London. Its listed services are:
- Managed IT services and IT support, which it brands "Human IT Support"
- Microsoft 365, Azure, Surface and Copilot
- Cloud backup, consulting, hosting, migration, storage and VoIP
- Cyber security: threat protection, audit and compliance, email security, identity and access management
Who it suits: Microsoft-centric businesses, particularly those with a Cape Town office or a United Kingdom operation to support from the same provider.
Systeque (that's us)

Systeque has traded since 1998 from Block 4, Fountain Grove, 5 2nd Rd, Hyde Park, Sandton, 2196. It is independent — not part of a group — and engineer-led. Its services are:
- Managed IT: monitoring, patching and support across servers, workstations, Microsoft 365, Linux and networks
- Microsoft 365 and cloud migration, licensing, security baselines and backup
- Linux and server infrastructure at RHCE level, as a Red Hat Partner
- Firewalls, gateway security and network segmentation
- Internal and external penetration testing, run in house rather than subcontracted
- Data-centre hosting and colocation in partner Tier 4 facilities, and VoIP
Who it suits: Gauteng businesses that want one team for both infrastructure and security, especially where Linux or on-premise servers sit alongside Microsoft. On-site response is within two hours inside a 30 km radius of Sandton.
Where we are not the right fit: Systeque is smaller than Netsurit or Westech and does not staff a 24/7 helpdesk — cover is 08:00–17:00 SAST weekdays, with after-hours by SLA. The on-site radius is Gauteng-centred, so a Cape Town or Durban head office is better served by a provider with people there.
Westech

Westech describes itself as "Established in 1995" in one place and as having "a rich history dating back to 1994" in another; its own site is inconsistent on the year. It operates from 9 Simba Road, Sunninghill Place, Block C, Sunninghill, and describes its head office as being in Sandton, Johannesburg. Its listed services are:
- IT support with SLA, managed IT services and IT outsourcing
- Network infrastructure, business internet and IT connectivity
- IT security solutions and IT audit
- Hosted and cloud services, Microsoft Teams and 365 Business Voice, VOIP PBX
- IT hardware and software supply, installation and support, including Mac support
Who it suits: Businesses that want connectivity and hardware procurement from the same supplier as their IT support, and environments with a significant number of Macs.
How to actually choose between them
The service lists above are nearly interchangeable, which is the point. Every provider on this page will tell you they do managed IT, cloud and cyber security. The differences that matter are not on the services page:
- Ask who answers the phone. A named engineer and a call-handling queue are different products at similar prices.
- Ask for a response commitment with a number in it, on site and remote, and ask what happens when it is missed.
- Ask which work is done in house and which is subcontracted — penetration testing and senior Linux work are the two most commonly farmed out.
- Ask for client references you can call, in your own industry, and check how long those relationships have run.
- Ask where the nearest engineer physically sits, and confirm the office address is real rather than a registered one.
